Community Standards
River is a private space for mutual commitments. These standards apply to display names, invitations, intentions, reflections, and other partner-visible content.
Mutual choice comes first
A River partner cannot see which apps you select, remotely control your iPhone, or force you to accept or continue a commitment. Either person can decline, leave early, or disconnect.
What is not allowed
- Threats, intimidation, harassment, stalking, or coercive control.
- Hateful or dehumanizing attacks based on a protected characteristic.
- Sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, or child sexual abuse material.
- Impersonation, fraud, or deceptive attempts to obtain credentials or money.
- Content that promotes violence, self-harm, illegal activity, or abuse of another person.
- Repeated unwanted invitations or attempts to evade another person's block.
How enforcement works
River screens high-confidence prohibited text before it is shared. Concerns sent to our support address are reviewed with limited access. Depending on the context and severity, River may remove content, restrict invitations or partner access, suspend an account, preserve evidence required for safety or law, or permanently remove an account. We may act immediately where there is a credible safety risk.
Report a concern
To report concerning content or behavior, email support@rivercouple.com with the relevant context. River is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Questions and appeals
If you believe River misunderstood a report or enforcement decision, email support@rivercouple.com with the account email and relevant context. We review appeals separately when practical, while protecting the privacy and safety of everyone involved.
